Important Terms

Design: Any composite of text, copy, images, and illustrations created by us  

Flyer: A design oriented for physical printing either as 1-per-page (8.5"x11), 2-per-page (5"x8"), or 4-per-page (4"x5")

Poster: A design for physical printing oriented and sized 24" x 36"

Digital Display or Digital Ad: A design created in Landscape orientation for use on the Digital Signage around campus (formally known as a "Plasma Ad")

Our system indicates that your request falls after our suggested cut-off time of 15 days. We strive to provide the best quality service, but we can only do so with ample planning and preparation. Because this is a “rush” request, we cannot guarantee the quality of our work. Please follow up with a member of our media team for more information.

Expiration Date

If you are designing your own signage, 
please follow at least these beginner design standards or use template provided:

  • Leave a bleed margin of 1/4" or 18px from the edge of the graphic. This area should have no text.
  • Please do not use more than 2 different fonts.
  • Do not use fonts that are difficult to read. Stick to the basics.
  • Make sure all your words and lines are sufficiently spaced.
  • Make sure all images used are free of copyright and watermarks. (Here's a good resource)
  • Keep your design simple and not too cluttered. It's better to design based on "ease of readability", and not whether it looks "fun and colorful".
  • Do not stretch or disproportionately shrink any images. 
  • Emphasize the parts that are important to your audience: Time, Date, Location, Title, etc. 
  • No Links! There is an area to add a link below that will be converted into a QR Code
  • Don't add too much written copy. Too much copy makes people not want to look at your design. Ask yourself, "If I were walking down the street and saw this, would I stop and read it?"

NOTICE

We are required to remind you that in order for the College to remain ADA compliant, we're not allowed to send any images with embedded/flattened written text via mass communication.

Digital Ad (Size: 1920px x 1080px) formally known as "Plasma Ads" 

  • One design per request
  • All ads are displayed in a 1 minute time frame various times throughout the day.
  • If your department is providing the design, the minimum resolution that must be provided is 1920 pixels horizontal by 1080 pixels vertical at a resolution of 72dpi.
  • Digital Displays must be finalized AT LEAST one week prior to the event.

Physical Designs Information

Flyer Design

We provide the design. Printing to be handled by the Duplication Center. A high resolution copy will be provided to you for duplicating.

Poster 

Placed at ONE location maximum in pre-designated sign holders.
For ever-green, or non-dated information only.
A Printed poster will require approval from your department head.
Please get their approval, and provide their email and extension.

Custom Size

Please call the Media Services Department (305) 237-8929 for special sizes

Poster requests must be submitted AT LEAST two weeks ahead of event. Poster approval process must allow for a display time of AT LEAST one week. If you cannot meet these deadlines, we can provide a digital display instead.
  • Easels available on a first come first serve basis
  • Space available on a first come first serve basis
  • Mounting and/or Laminating will be handled on a case by case basis
  • Limit of one posters maximum per event
